These portraits are a series of JMADS' Age Progression Exhibit of Jose Miguel Arciniega timeline from when he served thirty-six years to the state of Texas under four different governments starting with Texas, New Spain, Texas, Mexico, Republic of Texas and Texas United States. They were painted by David Baisden, a talented artist from Houston, Texas. The first portrait is the first portrait we created for Jose Miguel Arciniega from the facial features of his descendants in our society in 2013. It is not part of the age progression exhibit. The second portrait of Jose Miguel Arciniega when he was twenty-six years old in 1819. This is when he served under King Ferdinand VII of Spain as a secret agent and military explorer to secure the Northern borders of Texas and the United States. The third portrait is when he was thirty-seven years old and he served as an Alcalde (Mayor) in 1830 and 1833 in San Antonio, Texas, Mexico. The fourth portrait is when he was forty-two years old, and he was Mexico's Land Commissioner who issued out land grants to Stephan F. Austin's settlers in his colonies. The fifth portrait is at the end of his career when he secured the Texas borders for the United States in 1846.
